It is our nature.
We are not perfect. We are broken and mended, hurt and healed, scarred, in other words, not perfect. But we want to step into a pristine picture, unblemished, with clean lines, perfect shapes, peak health, radiant smiles, white picket fences, and the works. We think if only we stepped into such a perfect picture, we could leave our baggage behind, let go of our flaws and, maybe, become perfect ourselves.
A new year offers us this opportunity. It is a clean slate, unblemished; the calendar is crisp, and the sunlight seems cleaner. Goals are set, and we have not yet skipped workouts or missed deadlines. Every new year starts with a promise, a hope, of perfection.
But we eventually mess up. We miss workouts, miss goals, hurt people, miss birthdays, and many little things we miss. We forget to smile and frown at every flaw. It happens every year.
This year, let us acknowledge that our past and our life itself move on different cycles. Our seasons change, just using a different calendar. Let us not put excess pressure on this year. Let us leave our baggage behind, one bag at a time to start with. Let us forget to frown, forget the mistakes, forget the imperfections, and just remember to smile. Remember to make others smile.
Wish you a smiling new year.
Stay blessed and safe and keep sharing great ideas with us!
Here’s smiling at you kid!
Thanks Rahul.
